HICKORY, N.C. - Lauren Hochstetler's game-high 16 kills earned the Lions their third straight victory against Lenoir-Rhyne Tuesday evening in four sets (26-24, 21-25, 25-17, 25-11). The win was their first on the road this season.
Mars Hill hung tough against the Bears in the first set, squeaking out the extra point to go up in the contest. The Bears battled back in the second frame to even the match at one set apiece.
The Lions found an extra gear in the third set and never looked back. For the remaining two sets, the teams were only tied twice and Mars Hill never vanquished a lead. She also added 15 digs, three aces and one assist.
Rebecca Butler hammered home the game-winning kill for her seventh of the match. She also led the team with 16 digs on the evening.
