LOUISVILLE, K.Y. - The Mars Hill women's cross country team finished 47th of 100 teams overall at the extremely competitive Live in Lou Classic race, hosted at E.P Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday morning over the 8k race distance.
In their first overnight trip of the season, the Mars Hill women's cross country team faced their strongest competition and largest field of racers with over hundreds of runners. Freshman Mary Malcolm led the Lions in a time of 19:44, followed by Grace Adams in 20:05, Natalee Powers in 20:16, Hannah Frazer in 20:24, and Lola Korth in 20:48 to round out the team scoring for the Lions.
Thoughts from Coach Benge:
"After over a week with limited team practice due to the hurricane, it was great for the team to be able to travel and compete this weekend and dust off the rust. The women got out to a strong start in the large and competitive field, which is a great experience for them as we approach championship season."
