Elder named Assistant AD, SWA, and Director of Compliance
Mars Hill Athletics has promoted Elle Elder to Assistant Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator, and Director of Compliance, effective immediately.
MARS HILL, N.C. – Mars Hill Athletics has promoted Elle Elder to Assistant Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator, and Director of Compliance, effective immediately. She will step down as the head men's and women's swim coach, but remain the Aquatics Director.
"I would like to thank Director of Athletics Rick Baker and the other members of the search committee for this amazing opportunity," Elder said. She added, "I would also like to thank my swimmers for their support and for their hard work and commitment the past three years I served as their coach."
Elder, an alumna of Mars Hill, served as the Athletics Crew Supervisor, Swim Coach and Aquatics Director at Warren Wilson College for three years. Elder was responsible for many aspects in her various roles including, but not limited to, recruiting athletes, being elected the Treasurer of the Appalachian Swim Conference, and creating work programs to provide students with skills and discipline to succeed as students and future employees.
"Elle is a great fit to take over the positions of Assistant Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator and Director of NCAA Compliance," Baker stated. "Elle had previous experience in athletic administration at Warren Wilson College and combined with her stint coaching both our men's and women's swimming teams over the last three years, as well as being our Certified Pool Director at MHU, will enable her to be very successful in this promotion."
Elder added, "I look forward to this next step at MHU."
