Lions fall to Crusaders in second home meet

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill acrobatics & tumbling team (0-2) was defeated by Belmont Abbey (1-1) by a score of 239.715-189.170 Thursday evening.
Mars Hill led after the compulsory events, outscoring Belmont Abbey 29.90-27.80. The Crusaders stumbled in the acro heat, scoring just a 1.65 out of 10. The Lions, in the toss heat, scored their highest mark of the night with a 9.1 out of 10.
The Crusaders took the remaining five events, scoring highly in the pyramid with a 9.20 and 9.10 in two of the three heats. The Lions performed strongly in the pyramid, scoring two of their higher marks with an 8.50 and 8.30 in two of the heats.
During the tumbling event, the Lions' Destiny Satterlee scored the Lions' highest mark of the event with an 8.70 in the sixth heat, the open pass.

The Lions return to the mats on Friday, March 11 when they host Trine. The meet is set to begin at 7 p.m.
