Weaver named to preseason All-SAC First Team; Lions tabbed eighth
Mars Hill junior third baseman Zach Weaver was named to the 2023 All-South Atlantic Conference Preseason First Team, as released by the league Tuesday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill junior third baseman Zach Weaver was named to the 2023 All-South Atlantic Conference Preseason First Team, as released by the league Tuesday morning.
Weaver was an All-SAC First Team selection at the end of the 2022 campaign. Weaver led the Lions with 53 hits and 45 RBI in 44 games played. He ranked second on the team with 12 home runs, a slugging percentage of .624, and a batting average of .321.
Weaver posted two five RBI games as well as two three RBI games during the season. He also added a four RBI contest versus Anderson on March 26.
In the preseason poll, the Lions were tabbed eighth with 66 points; two behind Anderson for seventh.
