CSS to Televise Football Game at Carson-Newman

MARS HILL, N.C. -- The Mars Hill football game on Thursday night at Carson-Newman will be televised on CSS-TV. The television broadcast and kickoff are set for 8 p.m.
Mars Hill College will provide a live audio webcast of the game. The In the Huddle on Bojangles Thursday pregame show will air at 7 p.m. Live in-game statistics will also be available for the game.
The Lions (5-2, 3-0), currently ranked No. 24 by D2Football.com and in first-place in the South Atlantic Conference, defeated Newberry, 48-36, on Saturday at the Ammons Family Athletic Complex and Meares Stadium. The Eagles (4-3, 2-1) dropped Catawba (4-2, 2-1) by a score of 42-16 on Saturday.

Against the Wolves, Jon Richt (Watkinsville, Ga.) set a new school record for most passing yards in a single game with 330 and tied a school mark for most passing touchdowns in a single season with 16. Jonas Randolph (Daleville, Ala.) set a new school record for most career all-purpose touchdowns with 30 after he scored twice on the day.
Randolph, Richt and P.J. Gore (North Myrtle Beach, S.C.) are all approaching school single-season and career records. Randolph is 44 rushing yards from breaking the Mars Hill career record of 2,859 set by Travis McFadden (1999-2003). Gore is 199 yards from breaking the single-season receiving record of 940 set by Dale Similton in 1985.
Richt is 354 passing yards from breaking the single-season passing record of 1,967 set by Ashley Abernathy in 1993. He is also one passing touchdown from breaking the single-season passing record of 16 set by Abernathy in 1993.
On defense, Rudy Cabral (Fairview, N.C.) leads the conference in tackles with 69. Maurice Harris (Hendersonville, N.C.) ranks first in the league in sacks (11) and tackles for loss (15).
