Lions in Second Place After Opening Round of Roanoke Invitational
The Mars Hill men’s golf team sits in second place after the opening round of the Roanoke College Invitational in Roanoke, Va on Saturday.
ROANOKE, Va. - The Mars Hill men's golf team sits in second place after the opening round of the Roanoke College Invitational in Roanoke, Va.
Freshman Cole Swezy fired an opening round three-over-par 75 to lead the Lions. Sweezy is tied for fourth place. Chase Dempsey shot a 76 and will begin tomorrow's second round in a tie for sixth place. Nick Caruso had an opening round 77 and is tied for 10th place. As a team, Mars Hill finished with a first round 306, four strokes behind Bridgewater for the lead.
The final round at the Roanoke Country Club is scheduled for Sunday.
