Mars Hill sits in first place after round one of MHU Invitational
The Mars Hill men's golf team ended Monday's round one in first place at the Mars Hill University Fall Invitational held at the Broadmoor Golf Links.
FLETCHER, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team ended Monday's round one in first place at the Mars Hill University Fall Invitational held at the Broadmoor Golf Links.
The team shot a combined 298 which put the Lions five strokes ahead of second place Tusculum. The Mars Hill B-team placed fifth with a total score of 347.
Nicholas Boone sits in third place overall and is one stroke off of the lead after shooting a first round 73. Xisco Llinas, Will Byrd and Callum Ritchie all finished the day +3, tied for sixth overall.
Stephen Thomasson rounded out the A-team with a 12th place finish, shooting a +4 first round.
Christian Ethier, Carter Phillips, Jordan Fehr and Jose Moreno rounded out the field.
