Mars Hill falls to Lenoir-Rhyne on the road
The Mars Hill men's swim team fell by a score of 181-54 on the road Friday night versus Lenoir-Rhyne.
HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's swim team fell by a score of 181-54 on the road Friday night versus Lenoir-Rhyne.
Thomas Gibson won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 48.28 to secure nine points for the Lions. He earned three more points in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.89.
In the 500 and 1000 yard freestyles, Matthew Kowalczyk placed second to earn another four points in each race for Mars Hill, recording times of 5:35.09 and 11:26.66.
The Lions picked up seven combined points from Alex Bouhlel and Ryan Adams' second and third place finishes, respectively, in the 100 yard butterfly.
The quartet of Gibson, Bouhlel, Brendon Cyprianos, and Matthew Goslin turned in a time of 1:40.09 in the 200 yard medley relay while Bouhlel, Adams, Kowalczyk, and Dalton Davidson finished the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:36.35.

Mars Hill travels to Bristol, Tennessee on Saturday, January 23 to take on King and Lees-McRae. The meet is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start.
