Mars Hill opens 2021 season in non-conference action versus Lees-McRae
The Mars Hill men's tennis team (0-1) opened their 2021 campaign, falling 7-0 to Lees-McRae (1-0) Wednesday afternoon.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's tennis team (0-1) opened their 2021 campaign, falling 7-0 to Lees-McRae (1-0) Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions tandem of Leo Bernardes and Tom Farman claimed the 6-3 win in their doubles match, however, the Bobcats took the remaining two matches, earning the 1-0 advantage heading into singles action.
In singles play, Rodrigo Ramos was mounting a comeback before an injury late in the third set forced him to retire. In his Lions' debut, Youssef Ardouni battled to the wire, falling in the third and deciding set.
Mars Hill returns to the courts and opens up South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday, February 20 versus Anderson. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
