Jose Orozco named SAC Swimmer of the Week for second straight week
Mars Hill's Maria Jose Orozco was named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill's Maria Jose Orozco was named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week.
Jose Orozco, a freshman from California Hot Springs, Colombia, collected two individual first-place and two individual second-place finishes in Mars Hill's two home meets this week. In the contest versus Carson-Newman, she set a new school record, winning the 100 Butterfly with a time of 58.14. She also finished second in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:18.85. In the tri-meet versus King and Lees-McRae, Jose Orozco touched the wall first in the 200 Butterfly (2:15.72) and notched a second-place finish in the 50 Freestyle (25.00).
