Adam Williams named Director of Athletic Communications
Director of Athletics Rick Baker has announced that Adam Williams has been named the new Director of Athletic Communications, effective immediately.
MARS HILL, N.C. – Director of Athletics Rick Baker has announced that Adam Williams has been named the new Director of Athletic Communications, effective immediately.
"Adam has been a great addition to the Athletic Communication Department," stated Baker. "Since his arrival in 2017, Adam has improved many facets of the department. His drive, motivation and skill set will make his contributions invaluable to Mars Hill Athletics."
Williams is filling the position vacated by Rick's promotion to the Director of Athletics.
"I'd like to thank President Tony Floyd and Director of Athletics Rick Baker for this amazing opportunity," Williams said. "I couldn't be more honored to accept this position and am grateful beyond words."
Williams joined the Mars Hill athletic department in the summer of 2017 as the Assistant Sports Information Director. He served in that role until the spring of 2019 where he was appointed the Interim Director of Athletic Communications. Williams has worked closely with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) over the past two years in helping organize and produce the Lion's Choice Awards, the end of the year athletic ceremony.
Williams also works seasonally with the Asheville Tourists minor league baseball team as an official stringer and videoboard operator.
Williams will serve as the primary contact for all 22 varsity sports offered at the university. He currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina.
