Lions open spring schedule at Pioneer's Invitational

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team opened their spring competitions, placing 13th at the Pioneer's Invitational, hosted by Spartanburg Methodist College at the Cherokee National Golf Club in Gaffney, South Carolina.

Clayton Burnette was the top placing Lions, finishing 37th overall, shooting 20-over. One stroke behind was Sam Singleton, who placed 40th.

Avery Harden shot 25-over to finish the tournament in 56th, while rounding out the Lions group was Hank Berning and Jon Kern.

The Lions hit the links again on Monday, March 9 when they partake in the SSU Tiger Invitational, hosted by Savannah State University at Crosswinds Golf Club.
