Farmer and Price Named DSC Players of the Week
Duo led MHC to a 2-0 mark last week
WINGATE, N.C. - Mars Hill College senior attack Tyler Farmer (Calgary, Alberta) is this week's Deep South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Mars Hill junior goalie Dylan Price (York, Pa.) is the Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday. Saint Leo's Matt Obermeyer (Winter Springs, Fla.) is the DSC Freshman of the Week.
An All-DSC selection in 2010, Farmer led the ninth-ranked Lions to a 2-0 record last week, scoring nine goals and adding a pair of assists. Farmer had a .737 shots on goal percentage for the week, and netted the game-winner at St. Andrews. He added seven ground balls in the two victories.
Price notched 28 saves in two victories for Mars Hill last week. He allowed only 11 goals in the two wins, and had a save percentage of .737. He recorded 19 saves for the week, and allowed only four goals against Molloy. Price also had six ground balls on the week.
Obermeyer had an impressive collegiate debut for 12th-ranked Saint Leo, racking up six goals to lead the Lions to a 21-13 conference victory over Rollins. He took 18 shots on the afternoon, with 13 shots on goal. Obermeyer also collected three ground balls on the day for the Lions.
