Tucker Named ASC Swimmer of the Week

MARS HILL, N.C.-- Mars Hill's Hudson Tucker has been named Appalachian Swim Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Tucker led the Lions to a third place finish at the Sewanee Invitational. The senior accounted for four first place wins, a second-place finish, and a third-place finish on the afternoon. In his individual events, he touched first in the 50 Backstroke (25.09) and the 100 Backstroke (52.81); he finished second in the 100 Butterfly (53.09) and third in the 100 Freestyle (48.80). In the relay events, he swam the first leg of the winning 100 Medley Relay (45.10) and led-off the winning 200 Medley Relay (1:38.65) with a swim of 24.82.
Last season, Tucker became the first All-American in Mars Hill swim history. The senior has reached the National Championships in each of the last three seasons. This ASC Swimmer of the Week honor gives him five such honors in his Lion career.
Mars Hill returns to the water at the Wingate Fall Frenzy Invitational, which begins Friday, Nov. 22.
