Women's Golf Finishes in Sixth at Season-Opening AU Invitational
The Mars Hill women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the season-opening AU Invitational.
ANDERSON, S.C.- The Mars Hill women's golf team finished in sixth place at the season-opening AU Invitational. The par-72, 5940 Cobb's Glenn Country Club hosted the tournament.
Sarah Johnson shot a career low 77 to pace the Lions in the final round. In her first collegiate tournament, freshman Emma Lundvall finished in a tie for 10th place with a 158. Johnson finished in 18th place with a two-day 164. Mars Hill fired a team score of 326, a 17 stroke improvement over Monday's first round.
Erskine's Rachel Moore was the medalist with a three-over-par 147, winning by two strokes over Queens' Kylie Nizolek. Erskine was the team champion by seven strokes over second place Lincoln Memorial with a team score of 626.
The Lions host Bob Jones at Asheville Golf Club on September 20.
