Johnson Leads Women's Golf in Opening Round of Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate
Sarah Johnson’s opening round 82 led the Mars Hill women’s golf team in the first day of competition at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.
SUNSET BEACH, N.C.- Junior Sarah Johnson's opening round 82 led the Mars Hill women's golf team in the first day of competition at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, held at the par 72, 5810-yard Rees Jones Course at Sea Trail Resort. Mars Hill sits in a tie for 17th place with fellow South Atlantic Conference member Lenoir-Rhyne.
Johnson sits in a seven-way tie for 51st. Emma Lundvall shot an 83 and is tied for 58th. Victoria Barrett finished with an opening round 88 and is in tie for 78th. Raven Brown and Lindsey Ball each fired a 91.
Florida Tech's Johnanna Larsson is the clubhouse leader with a four-under-par 68. Wingate's Natalia Segura is four shots behind in second place. Florida Tech sits atop the leaderboard with an opening day 299, 11 shots ahead of a second place tie between Wingate and Newberry.
The Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate will conclude tomorrow.
