Several personal bests set at L-R Opener
The Mars Hill women's track & field team travelled to Hickory, North Carolina Saturday to compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Opener.
HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track & field team travelled to Hickory, North Carolina Saturday to compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Opener.
Senior Tiffany Holloway kicked off the outdoor season with first place finishes in both the discus and shot put. She threw 39.32m in the discus and 12.01m in the shot put.
Alyssa Jamerson finished second in the 5000m with a new personal best of 20:32.17. Jamerson shaved 1:50 off of her previous best time.
Kylie Johnson competed in the 100m, 200m, and long jump. She ran a personal best in the 200 with a time of 27.1 seconds. Johnson finished fifth in the long jump with a jump of 4.66m.
In the shot put, both Emily Kraft and Bailey Beeman threw personal bests. Kraft recorded a distance of 9.39m while Beeman threw 7.76m.
