Ashley Named AstroTurf SAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Redshirt senior punter Michael Ashley has earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill punter Michael Ashley has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Ashley wins the award for the first time this season and second time in his MHU career.
Ashley had nine punts in the Lions' 31-24 victory at Tusculum on Saturday for 362 yards and an average of 40.2 yards per punt. He posted a career long 56-yard punt in the victory and had four punts land inside the 20 yard-line with six fair-catches and one touchback.
Mars Hill will host Wingate in Meares Stadium and Ammons Family Athletic Center on Saturday at 1 p.m.
