Rankin, Snelson named AP, D2CCA All-Americans

WICHITA FALLS, Texas/AP News - Mars Hill football lands two on the AP and D2CCA All-America teams, as released Wednesday morning.
Sophomore defensive back Tristan Rankin was named a First Team Defensive selection. He hauled in eight interceptions and returned two for touchdowns. He totaled 40 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and three tackles for loss. He was named the statistical champion in interceptions per game (0.80). Rankin was also named the SAC Defensive Freshman of the Year.
On the Second Team Offense was senior tight end Ty Snelson. Snelson led the SAC in touchdown receptions with nine and was ninth in the conference in yards per game with 49.5.
Both players were also named to their respective AP Second Teams.
