Snelson, Honeycutt named SAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year; Lions land 15 on All-SAC Teams

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill football team placed 15 players on the All-South Atlantic Conference Mountain Division First and Second Teams, as released by the league on Thursday morning.
Senior tight end Ty Snelson was named the Mountain Division Offensive Player of the Year while senior linebacker Landon Honeycutt was named the Mountain Division Defensive Player of the Year.
Snelson racked up a career-high 587 all-purpose yards this season, with 427 yards receiving and a career-high 160 yards on the ground.
Honeycutt led the SAC in tackles per game, averaging nine while recording 90 tackles on the year. He was sixth in the league with five sacks and added 15 tackles for loss.
On the first team, the Lions placed Jervon Newton, Malik Laurent, Leondre Andreas, and Justin Bullock on the offensive side. On the defensive end, Monroe Sanderson and Tristan Rankin were named first team selections.
On the second team offense was Jimmy Urzua, Seth Branham, and Andre Labat. Second team defense consisted of Boris Lewis, Damipi Lamboni, Jabril Norman, and Nick Jackson.
