Honeycutt, Snelson named D2CCA All-Region First Team Selections
Mars Hill senior linebacker Landon Honeycutt and senior tight end Ty Snelson were named Division II Conference Coaches Association (D2CCA) All-Region First Team selections, as released Thursday afternoon.
MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill senior linebacker Landon Honeycutt and senior tight end Ty Snelson were named Division II Conference Coaches Association (D2CCA) All-Region First Team selections, as released Thursday afternoon.
Honeycutt, a native of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and an All-SAC First Team selection. He led the SAC in tackles per game, averaging nine while recording 90 tackles on the year. He was sixth in the league with five sacks and added 15 tackles for loss.
Snelson, a native of Hot Springs, North Carolina was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Year and an All-SAC First Team selection as well. Snelson racked up a career-high 587 all-purpose yards this season, with 427 yards receiving and a career-high 160 yards on the ground.
With their respective first team selections, both Honeycutt and Snelson will be nominated on the national ballot.
