Men's Golf Wraps Up Hargett Memorial With Fifth Place Finish
MONROE, N.C. – The Mars Hill men’s golf team wrapped up the final round of the Hargett Memorial Invitational with a fifth place finish.
MONROE, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's golf team wrapped up the final round of the Hargett Memorial Invitational with a fifth place finish. The Lions shot a combined team score of 867 (+3) to finish in the top-5 of the 16-team field.
Adam Lumley shot a 3-under 69 on day three and had the highest finish overall for the Blue and Gold as he was in a tie for seventh. Nick Caruso rounded out his good weekend with a 75 (+3) and concluded his tournament in a tie for 27th.
Chevy Hartzog paced the Lions in the first two rounds, but had some rough patches in the final round, shooting an 82 (+10) to end the contest in a tie for 33rd. Alejandro Canizares and Levi Neeson rounded out the five golfers for the Lions in 39th and 70th place, respectively.
Lenoir-Rhyne took home the team honors with a total of 851 (-13) while Tusculum's Brad Hawkins garnered top individual honors with his total score of 208 (-8).
The Lions will return to action on April 3-5 as they travel to Lenior, Tenn. To take part in the Tennessee River Rumble.
