Men's Golf In Third After Day One of SAC Championships
ETOWAH, N.C. – The Mars Hill men’s golf team currently sits in third place overall after the first round of the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Sunday, April 17.
ETOWAH, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's golf team currently sits in third place overall after the first round of the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Sunday, April 17. The Lions shot an opening round team score of 298 (+10), three strokes behind leaders, Lenoir-Rhyne and Carson-Newman.
Adam Lumley and Chevy Hartzog paced the Lions on the afternoon, shooting first-round scores of 73 (+1), which is good enough for a tie for third overall. Both players tallied three birdies during the first 18 holes.
Alejandro Canizares turned in a 75 (+3) and teammate Levi Neeson captured a 77 (+5), good enough for 14th and 30th places, respectively. Nick Caruso rounded out the golfers for Mars Hill with a 78 (+6).
The team will return to action for the second round tomorrow morning with the first group set to tee off at 9:15 a.m.
