Lions place second at Pfeiffer Invitational
The Mars Hill men's golf team opened the 2021 Pfeiffer University Spring Invitational in second place after Monday's opening round.
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - Mars Hill placed second overall at the 2021 Pfeiffer University Spring Invitational, wrapping up play on Tuesday afternoon.
ROUND 2
John Moss earned a top-five finish, placing fourth overall, shooting five-over par over the two-day span. Jose Moreno tied for fifth place, shooting 12-over.
Steve Papakonstantinou finshed 15th with a two-day score of 167 while Gabe Gonzales finished one stroke behind, placing 16th overall.
The team shot a combined 642 over the two days. In round two, the Lions shaved six strokes off their day one mark, combining for 318 in the round.
Moss and Moreno were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Mars Hill returns to the links on Monday, March 22 as part of the Tusculum University Spring Invitational.
ROUND 1

John Moss shot a first-round 74, finishing two over par. He trails Pfeiffer's Kevin Burris by four shots for the top spot.
Jose Moreno shot seven-over, finishing in a tie for ninth place. Steve Papakonstantinou finished the round tied for 13th, shooting a first-round 84.
Both Addison Bahr and Gabe Gonzales tied for 21st with opening round scores of 87.
