MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (1-2) was defeated by Montevallo (3-2) by a score of 18-10 Wednesday afternoon on the road.
The Falcons put up seven unanswered goals in the first quarter. Matthew Boas netted a natural hat-trick in the quarter.
In the second, the teams traded four goals apiece. For Mars Hill, Ben Hokenson, Jake Mannix, Luke Moore, and Carter Semple were the goal scorers.
Montevallo, in the third, once again held Mars Hill scoreless, led by Boas' three goals in the period.
Mars Hill, in the final 15 minutes, potted six goals. Caleb Nelson struck twice, while Moore, Aiden McNamara, Hudson Semple, and Thomas Huffines each scored.
Boas led all players with eight points (7G, 1A) while Nelson led the Lions with three points (2G, 1A) followed by two points from Moore (2G).
The Lions return to action on the road on Wednesday, February 25 when they face North Greenville. Faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
