Lions wrap up SAC Championships
The Mars Hill men's and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Sunday afternoon.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Sunday afternoon.
Women's Day One Recap:
Alina Mueller competed in the women's pentathlon, placing eighth overall with a new school record 2,715 points.
The event comprises of five events: the 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, Long Jump, and the 800m run.
Mueller set season and personal bests throughout the day, running a season-best 9.98 in the 60m Hurdles, throwing a new personal-best in shot put with a throw of 8.63m, and a finishing off the day with season-best 2:34.99 in the 800m.
Mueller earned one point for the Lions total team score with her eighth place finish.
La'Miya Blake competed in the women's 60m hurdles, running a new personal-best 10.62s. Blake placed 14th overall.
Bailey Beeman competed in the long jump, jumping 3.81m, placing 22nd overall.
Elana Mackey competed in the 400m, running a time of 1:06.29, placing 29th overall.
Women's Day Two Recap:
Bailey Beeman competed in the shot put and placed 26th with a throw of 8.06m.
The women's team finished in 12th place overall on the day.

Men's Day One Recap:
Ky Mann competed in day one of the men's Heptathlon. Day one consists of 4 of 7 events: the 60m, Long Jump, Shot Put, and High Jump.
Mann ran a season-best 7.5s in the 60m and threw a new personal-best 10.52m. He ended day one in eighth place with a combined score of 2,346 and is currently on track to set a new personal-best in the Heptathlon.
Day two events consist of the 60m Hurdles, Pole Vault, and the 1000m run.
Jackson McClain competed in the men's 60m sprint, running a new season-best 7.09s. McClain placed 24th overall.
McClain also competed in the men's long jump, jumping a new personal-best 5.98m.
Lee Prescott competed in the weight throw, throwing a new personal-best 11.25m. Prescott finished the day in 18th place.
Men's Day Two Recap:
Levi Higgins led the way for the Lions, placing second in the high jump with a season-best 1.97m. Higgins scored eight points for the team.
Ky Mann competed in day two of the men's Heptathlon. Day two events consisted of the 60m hurdles, pole vault, and the 1000m run. He ended the day in ninth place out of of 12 competitors. Mann set a new all-time best combined score of 3,813pts.
Ben Goodlett placed 12th in the shot put with a throw of 13.22m. Lee Prescott placed 16th with a throw of 11.95m.
Teammates Ashtin Gainey and Isaiah Reid competed in their first indoor championships. Gainey finished 20th in the shot put with a throw of 9.87m while Reid threw a new personal-best 8.06m, placing 23rd.
The men's team finished in 10th place overall.
The Lions open up the outdoor schedule at the Trojan Opener hosted by Anderson Univeristy on March 18th-19th.
