Lions Lose Exhibition Game Against Mountaineers
BOONE, N.C. - Courtney Freeman led all players with 16 points as six Mountaineer's scored in double-digits in Appalachian State women's basketball's 83-62 win over Mars Hill in an exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 29 inside the Holmes Center.
Anna Freeman, Katie Mallow and Catherine Williams each poured in 12 points and Chakeitha Weldon added 10 in the victory.
Mars Hill was led on offense by Kristen Metcalf's team-high 13 points while Danielle Tucker had 10.
The Apps shot 34.4 percent (30-for-86) from the floor while the Lions shot 50.0 (24-for-48) from the field.
Mars Hill will play another exhibition game against Western Carolina University on November 4. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
