Lions Picked to Finish in Seventh; McLaurin Earns Preseason Honors
The Mars Hill women’s tennis team was picked to finish in seventh place in the South Atlantic Conference. Sophomore Lucy McLaurin was named preseason all-conference.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team was picked to finish in seventh place in the South Atlantic Conference by the league's coaches in a preseason poll. Additionally, sophomore Lucy McLaurin was named preseason all-conference.
McLaurin earned a spot on the Second Team Singles squad after finishing her freshman campaign with a 9-10 singles record while playing primarily on the second court. McLaurin is 3-1 in five matches this fall.
Last season the Lions went 6-5 in the league and 9-10 overall as they finished in sixth place and returned to the conference tournament after a one year absence.
Wingate, winner of the last four regular season titles, was picked to win the league crown.
Mars Hill opens the spring season at Converse on Sunday, February 8.
