New MHU record set at Bulldog Invite
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team traveled a short distance down the road to compete in the Bulldog Invitational hosted by UNC Asheville.
Athletes faced all the elements, from lightning delays, hail, steady cold rain, high winds, and occasional sunny moments. Despite the conditions, the meet was packed full of success for many Lions - One new school record, four top-8 finishers and several personal bests and season bests.
New School Record
Simone Giggetts broke her own school record in the 100m Hurdles with a personal best time of 14.66s. Giggetts placed fifth overall.
Top 8 Finishers
Haley Eddinger placed third in Pole Vault with a vault of 3.29m.
Lindsey Jenkins placed fourth in the 3000m Steeplechase. Jenkins finished with a time of 12:32.67
Alina Mueller placed sixth in the 400m Hurdles, finishing with a personal best 1:08.39.
Additional personal bests/Meet Highlights
Natalee Powers placed 14th in the 1500m run, finishing with a personal best 4:59.62. Powers followed up her day one performance in the 1500m with a personal best 2:22.56 in the 800m run on day two. She placed 14th overall.
Sarah McNeil ran a personal best 5:45.22 in the 1500m. McNeil placed 34th overall.
Grace Adams placed ninth in the 5000m run with a personal best 18:38.55.
Mary Malcolm placed 16th in the 5000m run with a personal best 19:28.83.
Hannah Frazer ran a season best 19:33.47 in the 5000m run, placing 18th overall.
Ally Boerger finished 22nd in the 5000m run, finishing with a personal best 19:45.84.
