Viscusi Named AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Senior Jessica Viscusi has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
ROCK HILL, S.C.- Senior Jessica Viscusi has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, league officials announced today. This is the first time in Viscusi's Mars Hill career that she's earned AstroTurf Runner of the Week honors.
Viscusi was the runner-up in the non-Division I portion of the Furman Invitation last weekend, navigating the 6-kilometer course in 22:47. She was the highest finishing South Atlantic Conference and Southeast region runner. The race was Viscusi's second straight top two finish, as the Bryson City, N.C. native was the winner in the Catawba Invitational on September 5. As a team, Mars Hill finished 14th overall and sixth among NCAA Division II schools.
The Lions are off this week before returning to action next Friday at the UNC Charlotte Inivitational.
