Men's Soccer Hosts Lincoln Memorial in SAC Tournament Quarterfinal
The Mars Hill men’s soccer team will host No.7 seed Lincoln Memorial Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 South Atlantic Conference Tournament.
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's soccer team will host No.7 seed Lincoln Memorial Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 South Atlantic Conference Tournament at Meares Stadium and Ammons Family Athletic Center. Mars Hill earned the second seed after finishing in second place with an 8-3 record in league play; the Lions enter the quarterfinal match with an 8-7 overall record.
Mars Hill hosted Lincoln Memorial on September 24 and earned a 2-1 victory thanks to Joao Caselatto's first collegiate goal in the 82nd minute. Tuesday's contest will be the fourth meeting between the schools in the conference tournament with Mars Hill holding a 2-1 lead. The Lions won the last tournament meeting between the schools, earning a 1-0 win in Harrogate, Tenn. on November 3, 2010. The winner of the quarterfinal match will advance to the semifinals on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Manchester Meadows complex in Rock Hill, S.C. against the winner of the Tusculum/Carson-Newman match.
Admission to the match will be $8 for adults and $3 for children under 13. The first 50 Mars Hill students will be admitted for free with a valid MHU ID courtesy of the athletic department. Admission for college students with a non-MHU ID as well as Mars Hill students after the first 50 have been admitted is $2.
