Mars Hill sits in sixth after day two of SAC Championships
The Mars Hill women's swim team sits in sixth place at the midway point of the inaugural South Atlantic Conference Championships.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's swim team sits in sixth place at the midway point of the inaugural South Atlantic Conference Championships.
DAY 1
The Lions 200 yard medley relay team of Maggie Anders, Ellie McLain, Ella Abbott, and Cassidy Hull placed sixth with a time of 2:04.50.
Anders placed 17th overall in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:16.82. Hull finished 20th with a time of 11:29.36 while Sydney Gearhart placed 22nd with a time of 11:37.54.
In the C Final of the 200 yard IM, Maria Arrabal placed fourth with a time of 2:14.38. The time placed 20th overall.
Alba Silva finished fourth in the B Final of the 50 yard freestyle, placing 12th overall with a time of 24.46.
The quartet of Gearhart, Anders, Hull, and Sarah Ellen Johnson placed sixth in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.31.
At the end of day one, the Lions sat in sixth with 134 points.
DAY 2
Maria Arrabal placed fifth in the B Final of the 400 yard IM, 13th overall, with a time of 4:45.37. Sarah Ellen Johnson placed third in the C Final, 19th overall, with a time of 4:47.93.
In the C Final of the 200 yard freestyle, Alba Silva and Sydney Gearhart placed first and second, 17th and 18th overall, respectively. They turned in times of 1:56.49 and 1:58.19.
The team of Arrabal, Johnson, Silva, and Leah Hinsley placed fifth in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:11.83.
At the conclusion of day two, Mars Hill remained in sixth with 220 points.
The SAC Championships roll on Friday, February 10.
