WSSU Invitational Results
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- Two women's track and field school records fell at the Winston-Salem State Invitational Friday and Saturday, and several team members set new personal events at the event.
Ginny Smith and the 4x200M Relay team each set school records. Smith placed third overall in the High Jump with a jump of five feet, three inches. The 4x200M Relay team, consisting of Jessica McEntyre, Meredith Mercer, Alexis Montgomery and Jessica Viscusi turned in a time of 1:52.19, which smashed the old school record by two seconds.
McEntyre also set a personal best in the 200M Dash with a time of 27.75 seconds.
Other Lions setting personal bests were Heidi Hooker and Anje Kidd, who each turned in career-best performances in the 5000M Run. Hooker turned in a time of 20:56.83, good enough for sixth overall. Kidd finished in ninth place with a time of 21:34.67.
Savannah Maisel also turned in a notable performance for Mars Hill, finishing fifth place in the 1500M with a time of 5:38.55.
Mars Hill's next meet will come on April 7 at the Terrier Relays in Greenville, S.C.
