Terrier Relays Results
GREENVILLE, S.C.-- The women's track and field team set three new school records and several team members posted personal bests at the Terrier Relays Saturday.
New school records were set in the 4x200M Relay, Sprint Medley Relay, and High Jump. The 4x200M Relay and Sprint Medley Relay teams were made up of Jessica McEntyre, Alexis Montgomery, Meredith Mercer and Jessica Viscusi. They quartet broke the previous 4x200M record with a time of 1:51.97. They shattered an 11-year old school record in the Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 4:25.16, beating the previous record by a full two seconds.
Ginny Smith accounted for the broken High Jump record. Smith jumped a height of five feet, 3 and 1/4 inches for the new top mark in school history.
Several Lions also set personal records at the event. Viscusi turned in a jump of seven feet, six inches in the pole vault for a new personal best. Heidi Hooker beat her previous career-best by a full minute in the Steeple Chase with a time of 13.17. Faith Trammell also improved her 5K time by two minutes with a time of 20:07.
Mars Hill will be in action again on Friday, Apr. 13 at the Appalachian State Open Meet in Boone, N.C.
