Track Teams Compete at Appalachian Indoor Open
The Mars Hill track teams had a solid day at the Appalachian Indoor Open with a new school record in the women’s weight throw.
BOONE, N.C.- The Mars Hill track teams had a solid day at the Appalachian Indoor Open with a new school record in the women's weight throw.
Dana Thompson set a new school record in the weight throw with a mark of 11.17 meters. The previous school record was 10.44 meters. Anje Kidd scored a fourth place finish in the 3000 meter run (12:03.58), followed by Shelby Robinson in fifth (12:21.03). Toccara Jefferies finished in sixth place in the 200 meter dash (28.46).
Daniel Lerner finished in seventh place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:07.01, followed by Nathan Wheeler. Cameron Lackey finished in eighth place in the 800 meter run (2:06.43), followed by Lerner in ninth (2:09.32).
Mars Hill will send student-athletes to the UCS Invitational in Winston-Salem as well as the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, S.C. tomorrow.
