Three Lions Earn All-Region Accolades
Seniors Faith Trammell and Jessica Viscusi along with junior Alexis Montgomery have been named to the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor All-Region team
NEW ORLEANS – Seniors Faith Trammell and Jessica Viscusi along with junior Alexis Montgomery have been named to the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor All-Region team. Each student-athlete received honors for multiple events and all three made the All-Region team for the second consecutive season.
Trammell was honored in the 3000 meters and 5000 meters. She set the school record in the 5000 meters at the Hilton Garden Invitational on January 30 with a time of 18:18.13, which lowered a record that she set earlier in the season. She had several top five finishes in both the 3000 and 5000 meters.
Viscusi earned All-Region accolades in the 800 meters, mile, 3000 meters and 5000 meters. Viscusi broke Trammell's 5000 meter record at the Hilton Garden Invitational, leading from start to finish in her heat with a new record time of 18:09.70. At the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational, Viscusi finished in sixth place in the 3000 meters with a time of 11:26.31.
Montgomery earned All-Region honors in the 60 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Montgomery set a new school record in the 60 meter dash at the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational on February 6 with a time of 7.80 seconds. She scored a fifth place finish in the 200 (25.88) at the UCS Invitational on February 21.
Mars Hill begins the 2015 outdoor season on March 14 at the Brevard Invitational.
