Teachey named D2Football.com Player of the Week
A multiple-record setting performance earned Teachey his second Player of the Week honor.
MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill kicker Lon Teachey was named the D2Football.com Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday morning.
This week, Teachey also garnered WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. The senior from Teachy, N.C., set a school record with 16 points in a game and tied a Mars Hill record with a 52-yard field goal in the Lions 60-19 win over UVA Wise. Teachey hit all three of his field goals and went 7-of-7 on extra points. As a punter, he had three punts, all of which landed inside the 20 yard line.
