ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (4-6-7, 2-4-4 SAC) was defeated by No. 5 Anderson (11-1-4, 7-1-2 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference Quarterfinal action Saturday night on the road.
The Trojans, the one-seed in the tournament, opened the scoring in the 34th minute as Juan Jose Alvarez netted his fourth of the season. Juan Pablo Lepervanche picked up his first of two assists on the night.
With less than three minutes to play in the half, Andres Giraldo put the Trojans up by two with his first of the season. Giraldo assisted on Charles Bolduc's second half tally, providing Anderson the 3-0 lead entering the 49th minute.
Lepervanche led all players with three shot attempts.
Mathias Karhus Mjaavatn, Carrick Bromage, Jens Haukeland, Charlie Drury, and Magnus Juul Davidsen each recorded a shot attempt for the Lions.
