Holmes Named AstroTurf SAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Mars Hill senior wide receiver Dimitri Holmes has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill senior wide receiver Dimitri Holmes has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, league officials announced on Monday. This is Holmes' second weekly award of the season; the Athens, Ga. native was named the AstroTurf SAC Offensive Player of the Week on September 15.
With the Lions leading 14-7 in the second quarter, Holmes returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. It was his second kickoff return touchdown of the season, the first coming in the second quarter of Mars Hill's season-opener at West Georgia. Holmes had two touchdown receptions in the first half of Saturday's game and completed his first collegiate pass, a 67-yard touchdown to Keshaun Taylor in the third quarter.
Mars Hill continues conference play on Saturday at Carson-Newman.
