Lions open home slate versus L-R, UNC Pembroke
The Mars Hill women's swim team opened their 2021-22 home schedule versus Lenoir-Rhyne and UNC Pembroke Friday night inside Harrell Pool.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's swim team opened their 2021-22 home schedule versus Lenoir-Rhyne and UNC Pembroke Friday night inside Harrell Pool.
Lenoir-Rhyne defeated the Lions by a score of 158-98 while UNC Pembroke downed Mars Hill by a score of 182-77.
Rylie Noe won the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 29.53. Leah Hinsley, in the same race, placed sixth with a time of 31.44. Noe finished second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.12.
In the 200 yard freestyle, Elena Massa placed second with a time of 2:00.58. In the 50 and 100 yard freestyles, she finished third with times of 26.19 and 57.03, respectively.
In the 100 yard freestyle, Elsbeth Roper placed fourth with a time of 58.08. Brianna Broussard, in the 100 yard butterfly, finished fourth with a time of 1:04.18. In the 100 yard breaststroke, Sarah Ellen Johnson placed fourth with a time of 1:14.95.
The team of Roper, Johnson, Massa, and Sydney Gearhart placed third in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:48.79.

The Lions return to the pool on Saturday, October 23 when they face Lees-McRae. The meet is set for a 2 p.m. start.
