MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's swim team defeated both Chowan (139-110) and Converse (138-114) Friday afternoon.
In the 200 meter freestyle, Elena Massa swam a time of 2:14.55 to claim the win. She claimed victory in the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 1:02.70.
Massa also won the 50 meter freestyle with a time of 29.60 and finishing second in the same race was Elsbeth Roper with a time of 30.29. Leah Hinsley, Zehr Gibbs-Barger, and Onalee Durham rounded out the top-five in the race.
Rylie Noe won a thriller in the 100 meter backstroke, turning a time of 1:12.43, edging the runner-up by .07.
Sarah Ellen Johnson won the 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:26.69. She also took home the 200 meter breaststroke with a time of 3:06.46, six seconds faster than second place.
The group of Massa, Roper, Sydney Gearhart, and Brianna Broussard placed second in the 400 meter freestyle relay with a time of 4:21.81.
