Mars Hill splits Senior Day meet versus Lees-McRae, King
The Mars Hill women's swim team split versus Lees-McRae and King on Saturday in their final home meet of the 2021-22 season.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's swim team split versus Lees-McRae and King on Saturday in their final home meet of the 2021-22 season.
The Lions fell to Lees-McRae 129-67, but downed King by a score of 116-71.
Elena Massa, in the 200 yard freestyle, claimed victory with a time of 2:04.48. Sydney Gearhart and Leah Hinsley placed third and fourth, respectively, in the same race.
Massa placed third in the 100 yard freestyle, posting a time of 56.76. In the 100 yard backstroke, Rylie Noe finished second with a time of 1:04.59.
In the 200 yard IM, Sarah Ellen Johnson placed second with a time of 2:29.32. In the 100 yard breaststroke, she also finished second with a time of 1:16.38.
Brianna Broussard placed third in the 100 yard butterfly, recording a time of 1:04.40. Broussard also finished third in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:55.15.

The Lions return to the pool on Friday, January 21 when they swim against Carson-Newman on the road. The meet is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
