Montgomery Sets School Record at Niswonger Invitational
The Mars Hill track and field teams began the 2014 portion of their season with some impressive performances on Friday at the Niswonger Invitational held on the campus of East Tennessee State University.
JOHNSON CITY, TENN.- The Mars Hill track and field teams began the 2014 portion of their season with some impressive performances on Friday at the Niswonger Invitational held on the campus of East Tennessee State University.
Sophomore Alexis Montgomery set the school record in the women's 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.92. Montgomery lowered her previous school record time of 26.36, set in last year's Niswonger Invitational.
On the men's side, Alex Griggs ran a personal best in the men's 5000 Meter Run, finishing with a time of 15:15.07. Tre'von Gee finished in sixth place in the 60 Meter High Hurdle preliminaries, qualifying for the finals that are scheduled to be held on Saturday.
The teams will complete the event today.
