Viscusi Named SAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Junior Jessica Viscusi has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, league officials announced on Wednesday.
ROCK HILL, S.C.- Junior Jessica Viscusi has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, league officials announced on Wednesday. Viscusi wins the award for the first time in her career.
Viscusi set a new school record in the 1500 Meter Run on Saturday at the Beynon Catamount Classic, finishing in 4:47. Viscusi finished in second place and first among NCAA Division II runners. Viscusi's time is the second-best in the South Atlantic Conference this season and eclipses the previous school record by six seconds.
Last week's record-setting performance wasn't her first of the season, as the Bryson City, N.C. native set a new school record in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase on April 5 at the Terrier Relays.
Mars Hill will compete in the SAC Championships in Hickory, N.C. this weekend.
