Women's Track Places Four on All-Region Team
Four Mars Hill women’s track-student athletes were named to the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region team, with Alexis Montgomery and Jessica Viscusi receiving multiple honors.
NEW ORLEANS - Four Mars Hill women's track-student athletes were named to the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region team, with Alexis Montgomery and Jessica Viscusi receiving multiple honors.
Montgomery, the South Atlantic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Year, earned All-Region in the 100, 200 and 400 meters. Montgomery was the 100 meter dash champion at the Food Lion SAC Track and Field Championships and set multiple school records with several event wins this season.
Viscusi, the SAC Women's Track Scholar-Athlete, was named All-Region in the 1500 meters and 3000 meter steeplechase. Viscusi set new school records in each event and won four races in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Faith Trammel was named All-Region in the 10,000 meters. Trammel finished in fourth place at the Food Lion SAC Track and Field Championship and was part of the record-setting Distance Medley relay team at the Terrier Relays. Trammel was the runner-up in the 5,000 meters at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational.
Savannah Hulbert earned All-Region honors in the pole vault. Hulbert cleared 9 feet, 6 inches at the Terrier Relays.
619 separate competitors accumulated 911 total honors.
