Men’s Soccer Falls to Anderson
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Lions' men's soccer team lost to SAC rival Anderson University, 1-0 Sunday afternoon at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. MHC fell to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the SAC. The Trojans improved to 9-2 on the season and 4-0 in the league.
The only score of the match was an own goal by Mars Hill at the 11:46 mark. Despite many chances, the Lions could not find a way to record a goal.
Mars Hill outshot the Trojans, 12-6. The Lions edged Anderson in corner kicks, 4-2. Zac Scott played all 90 minutes in goal for MHC and made three saves. Lukas Hesse also played the entire match in the net for the Trojans and made two saves.
Mars Hill will play at Lenoir-Rhyne University on Wednesday night. Match time is set for a 7:30 p.m. start.
