Hudson Tucker Broke Three School Records
MARS HILL, N.C. - Hudson Tucker competed at the Delta State Invitational this past weekend and established three NCAA "B" cuts while also breaking school records in those events in the process. He established cuts in his specialties, 100 and 200 backstroke swimming in times of 51.12 and 1:54.51. He then swam a remarkable time in the 100 fly with a 49.57. Hudson now has a great chance to swim at the NCAA Nationals with these times which rank him nationally in the top 16.
Ed Smith improved on his NCAA cut by swimming the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.55 and is also ranked very high in the national rankings. Nicole Day and Audley Elder have already established NCAA cuts on the team.
The team will be swimming at home on January 15. The Lions will host Pfeiffer University at 12 p.m.
