Tucker blog: Final day in San Antonio
Hudson Tucker, competing in the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships this week, will keep Mars Hill fans up-to-date on his and head coach Teddy Guyer's week with a blog from San Antonio, Texas.
Hey Lion Nation,
Well today was my last day at Nationals. It's kind of sad now that its over but also exciting because now I can start training for next year. Coach and I are gonna spend a little time at the River Walk this afternoon before we head back to watch the final races (tonight) and the senior recognition.
Until next year,
Hudson

Hey guys,
I finally had a good swim tonight in my 100 backstroke. I finished in 49.98 seconds to place 10th in the nation. Coach was happy. It's been a long day and I have the 200 back tomorrow. I will send something tomorrow.
Thanks for your support,
Hudson

Hey guys,
I didn't do as well as I wanted in the fly this morning. I was sick all last week, and that has taken a little out of me. I am going to rest all day and give it my best tomorrow in the 100 back. This is my best chance to get a high finish, so I will give it my all. Even though I am not swimming at my best, this has been a great experience for me, and I really want to make it back every year. I hope to have better news for all of you tomorrow after my swim.

Hey everyone,
Yesterday was day two of our trip. Racing started in the morning. My first event was the 50-Yard Freestyle, but I didn't make the finals, so I'm going to relax and get ready for 100-yard Butterfly today. On Tuesday night, Coach and I went to the NCAA Chanpionship Banquet. It was a blast. The food was great, but Coach ate way too much dessert. The guest speaker was Josh Davis, a five-time Olympic medalist from San Antonio. It was a great talk and very motivational. On a side note, we got to have our picture taken with a bull. I will keep you informed of my progress.
Thanks,
Hudson

Dear Lion Nation,
Today is the first day at Nationals. Coach and I went to the pool, and it's a great facility. I practiced for an hour and a half while Coach was in meetings. Later in the day, I met my parents and went to The Riverwalk with them while Coach worked on paperwork and talked with some other coaches. We now are getting ready for the NCAA banquet tonight; I can't wait to see Coach actually dressed up. I will take pictures.
Until next time,
Hudson
Tucker will compete for the National Championship in the 100 and 200-yard Backstroke, 100-yard Butterfly and 50-yard Freestyle. He will compete at the Palo Alto Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas, from March 9-12.
