Athletic Highlights: October 2nd – October 8th
Football: The Mars Hill football team was victorious in their Homecoming contest versus Erskine, defeating the Flying Fleet 38-3. The Lions take to the road for the next two weeks, first taking on Emory & Henry on Saturday, October 14 at 1 p.m.
Men's Soccer: The Lions dropped both games this week, falling to Lincoln Memorial 3-0 and to Wingate by a score of 1-0. Mars Hill hosts Anderson on Wednesday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. and travel to Emory & Henry on Sunday, October 15 for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
Women's Soccer: Mars Hill went 0-1-1 this past week, drawing 1-1 with Lincoln Memorial and falling 4-0 to Wingate. Ashley Lindsay scored the Lions' goal this week, her first as a Lion. Mars Hill plays twice this week, facing Anderson at home on Wednesday, October 11 at 5 p.m. and on the road against Emory & Henry on Sunday, October 15 at 1 p.m.
Volleyball: The Lions split their matches this week, winning a five-set thriller over Catawba Tuesday night, but falling in three to Emory & Henry on the road. Jada Cannon led the Lions in kills in both contests with 16 and 12, respectively. The Lions host Anderson on Saturday, October 14 at 2 p.m.
Men's Cross Country: Mars Hill ran at the Royals XC Invitational, placing 26th overall.
Women's Cross Country: The Lions ran at the Royals XC Invitational, placing 25th overall.
Men's Swimming: The Lions swam at the Emmanuel Invitational this past Saturday.
Women's Swimming: Mars Hill swam at the Emmanuel Invitational this past Saturday.
Men's Golf: The Lions placed 10th at the Bob Dibble Intercollegiate, a two-day tournament that wrapped up this past Tuesday.
